Haryana Assembly Pays Tribute to Departed Personalities and Brave Martyrs

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): The one-day special session of the Haryana Legislative Assembly commenced on Monday, April 27, 2026, with a solemn tribute to prominent personalities and brave soldiers who passed away recently. The House, led by Speaker Harvinder Kalyan, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, and INLD MLA Aditya Devi Lal, observed a two-minute silence as a mark of respect for the departed souls.

The Assembly paid glowing tributes to former Deputy Speaker of the Haryana Legislative Assembly, Gopi Chand Gehlot, and former Member of Parliament, Jangbir Singh. Members of the House recalled their significant contributions to the development of the state and the nation, expressing deep condolences to their bereaved families.

In a poignant moment, the House also honoured the supreme sacrifice of several soldiers who laid down their lives protecting the unity and integrity of the motherland. The lawmakers lauded the exemplary courage and bravery of these martyrs, which include:

  • Officers & JCOs: Lieutenant Amit Singh and Subedar Dharamvir.
  • Personnel: Assistant Sub-Inspector Jageram, Havildar Rajesh Kumar, Havildar Virender Singh, Naik Ashok Kumar, Corporal Aman, and Lance Naik Naresh Ahlawat.
  • Sepoys: Arvind Singh, Babulal, Naveen Yadav, Himanshu Kaushik, Naveen Kumar, Aman Kumar, Jaideep, and Mohit.

The House collectively prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the families of the fallen heroes.
