BJP’s politics based on development, not vote banks: CM Nayab Singh Saini

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini stated on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prioritizes the dignity and development of every citizen over traditional vote-bank politics. Addressing a delegation of the Rai Sikh community at his residence, Sant Kabir Kutir in Chandigarh, Saini emphasized that the government works toward empowerment rather than appeasement. He urged the people of Punjab to work toward a prosperous future and suggested that a BJP government in Punjab would eliminate the illegal drug trade, forcing those involved in the illicit business to flee the state.

The Chief Minister highlighted the contrast between the governance models of Haryana and Punjab, asserting that while Punjab’s policies remain limited to announcements, Haryana has implemented practical reforms such as “reservation within reservation.” He noted that this policy ensures the Rai Sikh community receives fair representation in government and administration according to their population. Saini praised the community’s rich heritage of sacrifice and bravery, stating that they are not just guests from a neighbouring state but vital contributors to the nation’s culture and security who have never learned to bow down to injustice.

Reiterating the spirit of ‘Antyodaya,’ the Chief Minister remarked that the true meaning of democracy lies in reaching the person standing at the end of the line. He pointed out that the Haryana government’s decision to include the Rai Sikh community in the “Deprived Scheduled Caste” category was a firm step toward bringing them into the mainstream. Saini concluded by reaffirming the government’s commitment to preserving the cultural heritage and ideals of the Sikh Panth, noting that state-level celebrations of Gurpurabs demonstrate that the respect for religion and culture remains paramount under his administration.
