Chandigarh (Naval Kishore): The National Legal Services Authority, U.T. Chandigarh, will organize a National Lok Adalat on May 9, 2026, to facilitate amicable settlement of pending cases.
Individuals interested in resolving their disputes through mutual compromise in District Courts and various tribunals across Chandigarh are encouraged to approach the office of the District Legal Services Authority Chandigarh to get their cases listed for the upcoming Lok Adalat.
A wide range of cases will be taken up during the Lok Adalat, including criminal compoundable offences, cheque bounce matters under the Negotiable Instruments Act (Section 138), money recovery cases, motor accident claims, labour disputes, and disputes related to public utility services such as electricity and water bills. Matrimonial and family disputes, consumer protection matters, maintenance cases, rent issues, and other civil disputes like injunctions, easementary rights, and specific performance suits will also be considered.
