Punjab CM Mann Asserts Zero Tolerance on Law Violations Amid CBI Probe Debate in DM Suicide Case

Gurpreet Singh :- Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has reiterated his government’s uncompromising stance on law enforcement while responding to demands for a CBI probe into the alleged suicide of district manager Gagandeep Singh Randhawa. He stated that no individual, regardless of position, influence, or personal connection, would be shielded if found guilty of violating the law.

Emphasising that his government does not believe in patronage or favouritism, Mann said strict action would be taken against anyone involved, adding that governance in the state is guided by accountability and transparency.

The issue gained national attention after Congress MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla raised the matter in the Lok Sabha. Following this, Union Home Minister Amit Shah indicated that the case could be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation if Punjab MPs formally request it in writing.

The development has intensified the political discourse around the case, with further action now dependent on coordination between state representatives and the Centre.
