Gurpreet Singh :- Chandigarh witnessed a shocking incident of violence on Wednesday as a property dealer was shot dead in broad daylight in Sector 9, sending shockwaves across the city. The assailants, reportedly on a motorcycle, opened fire at close range before fleeing the scene, leaving the victim critically injured.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing multiple gunshots, after which chaos erupted in the otherwise calm and upscale locality. The victim was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead.
Police teams reached the spot soon after the incident and cordoned off the area. Initial investigations suggest that the attack may be linked to personal or business rivalry, though officials have not ruled out other angles.
CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined to trace the attackers, and a manhunt has been launched. The incident has raised serious concerns over public safety, especially given the high-security nature of the area.
Authorities have assured swift action and stated that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend those involved.
