Midnight Blaze Engulfs Ghaziabad Residential Block; Swift Rescue Effort Saves 150 Residents

Gurpreet Singh :- Late-night fire tore through a five-storey residential building in Ghaziabad, triggering panic among nearly 150 occupants before emergency teams mounted a rapid rescue operation that averted major casualties.

The blaze reportedly erupted around midnight on the ground floor of the apartment complex located in the Khoda area, quickly sending thick plumes of smoke through the structure. Residents, many of whom were asleep when the fire broke out, scrambled to evacuate as flames spread within the lower levels of the building.

Police and fire services responded promptly after receiving distress calls, dispatching multiple fire engines and rescue personnel to the scene. Authorities said coordinated evacuation efforts enabled residents to exit the building safely, preventing any loss of life.

Officials confirmed that while there were no fatalities, between eight and ten individuals sustained minor injuries during the chaos and were provided medical attention. The building houses approximately 40 flats, and emergency crews worked for several hours to fully contain the fire.

Additional support vehicles were also deployed to strengthen the firefighting operation, ensuring the situation was brought under control. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the blaze, though preliminary findings have yet to be disclosed.

The incident underscores persistent safety concerns in densely populated residential complexes, particularly regarding fire preparedness and emergency response readiness.
