Fourth Youth Hockey Player Arrested in Nova Scotia Hazing-Linked Sexual Assault Case

Nova Scotia (Rajeev Sharma): Police in Nova Scotia have arrested a fourth youth hockey player in connection with an ongoing sexual assault investigation linked to alleged hazing incidents involving a team in the Truro area, authorities said.

The Colchester County District RCMP confirmed that the youth was taken into custody on Thursday and has been charged with sexual assault and assault causing choking. The arrest follows the detention of three other young players earlier this week on similar charges.

According to police, the investigation began after a youth reported being sexually assaulted during a private hockey team gathering in Colchester County in October 2025. The complaint prompted an immediate probe, during which investigators recorded statements from multiple witnesses.

Staff Sergeant Marc Rose said investigators have since uncovered evidence pointing to several alleged incidents occurring at different times and locations across Nova Scotia. Police have identified at least three victims so far, though authorities believe more individuals may have been affected and have yet to come forward.

“We understand that coming forward can be difficult,” Rose said in a statement on Friday. “If there are others who’ve been harmed, we want them to know they will be heard, supported and treated with respect. They can reach out to us safely and at a pace that feels right for them.”

The RCMP has urged anyone with information related to the case to contact the Colchester County District RCMP as the investigation continues.
