Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Pays Tribute at Fatehgarh Sahib, Remembers Supreme Sacrifice of Sahibzadas

Chandigarh, December 26 — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday paid obeisance at Gurdwara Shri Fatehgarh Sahib, the sacred site where Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s younger sons, Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji, were bricked alive for refusing to bow before tyranny. Remembering their unparalleled sacrifice, the Chief Minister described the Sahibzadas as eternal symbols of moral courage, self-respect and religious freedom.

The Chief Minister bowed his head at the historic place where the young Sahibzadas chose martyrdom over submission. He said their sacrifice, made at a very tender age, stands as one of the most poignant and inspiring chapters in Indian history. Observed as Veer Bal Diwas, the day serves as a reminder of their unwavering faith and inspires future generations to stand firm for truth and righteousness.

While offering prayers, the Chief Minister reflected on the extraordinary spiritual strength displayed by the Sahibzadas, stating that true bravery is not limited to the battlefield but is also reflected in steadfast adherence to values and beliefs. He also participated in sewa at the Gurdwara premises, underlining the message of humility, service and devotion.

The atmosphere at Fatehgarh Sahib echoed with reverence, as devotees remembered how the sacrifice of the Sahibzadas continues to guide society towards courage, truth and moral resolve. The Chief Minister said their martyrdom proves that it is not age, but determination and conviction, that shape history.

Later, the Chief Minister also visited Gurdwara Shaheed Baba Moti Ram Mehra, where he offered prayers and paid tribute to Baba Moti Ram Mehra, whose selfless service remains a timeless example of humanity. Despite facing severe punishment and death, Baba Moti Ram Mehra chose compassion over fear and secretly served milk to the Sahibzadas when they were imprisoned in the cold tower at Sirhind.

Remembering his sacrifice, the Chief Minister said that Baba Moti Ram Mehra’s act was not just part of Sikh history, but a universal lesson in humanity and courage. He remarked that true religion lies in standing with the oppressed and serving others even in the face of grave danger. The Gurdwara, he said, continues to inspire devotees by reminding them that genuine courage is born out of compassion and selfless service.
