Landless Families to Receive 100-Square-Yard Plots Soon: Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini

Chandigarh, December 20: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday announced that the state government will soon allot 100-square-yard residential plots to landless and needy families. Around 7,000 such beneficiaries will be linked with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and provided financial assistance for house construction.

The Chief Minister made these remarks while addressing thanksgiving and public interaction programmes in villages Pralhadpur, Badarpur and Bani in the Ladwa Assembly constituency of Kurukshetra district. During the visit, he also listened to public grievances and directed officials to resolve them on the spot. He announced grants of ₹21 lakh each for development works in all three villages.

In Pralhadpur, the Chief Minister assured that all demands raised by Sarpanch Suman Saini would be fulfilled. He announced ₹47.46 lakh for drinking water pipeline works and ₹11 lakh for the construction of a community hall. In Badarpur village, he approved all 16 demands submitted by Sarpanch Karmveer and announced ₹43.31 lakh for drinking water pipeline projects. Similar assurances were given in village Bani for all pending demands.

Chief Minister Saini said that under the Mukhyamantri Shehri Awas Yojana, about 15,500 families have already been allotted 30-square-yard plots. He added that eligible applicants would soon receive an additional allotment of 30-square-yard plots as the second instalment under the scheme. He also stated that the government would soon announce new recruitment drives to provide jobs to the youth.

Recalling promises made during the election campaign, the Chief Minister said appointment letters were issued to youths even before the oath-taking ceremony. He claimed this was the first time in Haryana’s history that 25,000 youths were given government jobs simultaneously on merit, without any recommendation or bribery.

Highlighting welfare initiatives, Saini said free dialysis services are being provided in all government hospitals, medical colleges and health universities across the state. He added that women from families with an annual income below ₹1.80 lakh are being given LPG cylinders at ₹500, benefiting nearly 15 lakh women. Eligible women who are yet to avail the benefit were urged to apply.

The Chief Minister said Haryana has become the first state in the country to implement Minimum Support Price (MSP) on all 24 crops. He added that ₹116 crore had been transferred to farmers’ accounts as compensation for crop damage caused by waterlogging. Additionally, ₹430 crore was paid to farmers under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana for losses suffered in bajra cultivation.

Saini also said that families living on Panchayat land with houses constructed before 2004 have been granted ownership rights at collector rates applicable that year. He further highlighted the Lado Lakshmi Yojana, under which eligible women receive ₹2,100 per month. So far, two instalments have been released to 10 lakh women beneficiaries.
Urging eligible women who have not yet applied, the Chief Minister said applications can still be submitted online through a mobile app. He noted that the government is receiving between 3,000 and 4,000 new applications daily under the scheme.

On his way, the Chief Minister also stopped his convoy in Babain village, interacted with residents and addressed their grievances.
