PM Modi to Unfurl Saffron Flag at Ram Janmabhoomi Temple During Historic Ayodhya Visit

Ayodhya, November 25, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Ayodhya on Tuesday for a landmark ceremony at the newly completed Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, where he will hoist a traditional saffron flag on the temple’s shikhar. The event marks a major milestone in the temple’s long-awaited construction.

Modi will begin his visit at the Sapt Mandir complex, home to temples dedicated to Maharshi Vashishtha, Maharshi Vishwamitra, Maharshi Agastya, Maharshi Valmiki, Devi Ahilya, Nishadraj Guha and Mata Shabari. From there, he will visit the Sheshavtar Mandir.

The Prime Minister will then offer prayers at Mata Annapurna Mandir before heading to the Ram Darbar Garbh Grah for darshan and pooja, followed by a visit to the Ram Lalla Garbha Grah.

At noon, Modi will unfurl a 10-by-20-foot saffron flag featuring a radiant sun symbolising the valour of Lord Ram, an ‘Om’ inscription and an image of the Kovidara tree. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the ceremony represents a union of India’s “heritage and development” and reflects the cultural ideals of Ram Rajya, including unity, dignity and continuity.

The event aligns with Vivah Panchami, the day celebrating the divine marriage of Lord Ram and Maa Sita. It also marks the martyrdom day of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru, who meditated in Ayodhya for 48 uninterrupted
