Haryana Declares Optional Holiday on November 25 to Mark Guru Tegh Bahadur’s 350th Martyrdom Day

Chandigarh, November 23,2025: Haryana has announced an optional holiday across the state on November 25, 2025 (Tuesday), in observance of the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The decision aims to allow people to pay homage to the revered Sikh Guru and reflect on his sacrifice for religious freedom and human values.

A grand state-level event will be organised in Kurukshetra to commemorate the occasion. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to attend the ceremony, adding greater significance to the celebration. During the event, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s teachings, his supreme sacrifice, and his message of harmony and compassion will be prominently remembered.
