Bihar Records 67.14% Voter Turnout in Second Phase of Assembly Elections

Patna, November 11, 2025 — The second and final phase of the Bihar Assembly elections witnessed a strong voter turnout of 67.14% by 5 PM, according to the Election Commission of India. Polling began early in the morning at 7 AM and continued peacefully across 122 constituencies in 20 districts under tight security arrangements.

Voters turned up in large numbers throughout the day, reflecting a high level of public engagement. Among the districts, Kishanganj topped the list with 76.26% turnout, followed by Katihar (75.23%), Purnia (73.79%), Supaul (70.69%), Purvi Champaran (69.02%), and Banka (68.91%). The lowest turnout was recorded in Nawada at 57.11%.

Election officials confirmed that voting remained largely peaceful, with no major incidents reported. They credited the smooth conduct to effective deployment of security personnel and real-time monitoring of polling stations.

The second phase is crucial for several key constituencies where top leaders from major parties are contesting. The outcome will play a decisive role in determining the political direction of Bihar for the next term.

Counting of votes will take place on November 14, and the final results are expected to be declared the same day.
