Uttarakhand CM Approves Over ₹96 Crore for Infrastructure and Housing Projects

Dehradun, October 25, 2025 — Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, has sanctioned a series of allocations exceeding ₹96 crore for major infrastructure and housing developments across the state. A government release confirmed that funds have been approved for road reconstruction, housing quarters, water supply systems and public-amenity buildings.

Among the key approvals, ₹ 51 crore has been earmarked for the construction of 120 Type-II residential quarters (Block-C) at the Police Lines complex in Race Course, Dehradun. In addition, ₹ 54 crore has been sanctioned for 120 Type-II residential quarters at the IRB Second Battalion in Dehradun. A multi-storey residential building featuring 20 Type-III and 20 Type-IV quarters at the Bhagirath residential complex under the Lok Seva Aayog also secured approval of ₹ 19 crore. Furthermore, ₹ 5 crore has been allocated for a drinking-water project (pipeline and overhead tank) in the Police Lines area of Dehradun.

Rural and connectivity projects were also included in the sanction list. Reconstruction and improvement of the Laloori-Ghiakoti-Kyarda motor road in the Dhanaulti Assembly constituency of Tehri Garhwal district was approved for ₹ 4.16 crore. Similar allocations—₹ 3.39 crore and ₹ 3.45 crore respectively—were made for road upgrades in the Pokhara block (Damdewal-Gadri motor road) and Chalkudiya-Masmoli-Sakloni-Naukholi motor road in the Chaubattakhal Assembly constituency of Pauri Garhwal district. Additionally, ₹ 5.22 crore was sanctioned for reconstructing damaged retaining walls, installing railings and clearing debris along the pedestrian route from Kedarnath to Garurchatti in Rudraprayag district.

The package underscores the state government’s focus on enhancing both urban housing stock and rural/mountain connectivity. The large quantum of housing allocations in Dehradun signals a priority for residential infrastructure for public-servants and welfare sectors, while the road-works and pedestrian-safety funds highlight urgency in addressing terrain-related risks in the Himalayan districts.

Officials said that the approvals come with strict timelines and monitoring mechanisms, aiming to accelerate project starts ahead of the upcoming winter season when construction windows narrow. The CM’s office has asked departments to ensure transparent tendering, timely fund release and regular updates to the public about progress.
