Delhi Police Bust ISIS Module, Arrest Two Operatives Planning IED Blast

National Times Bureau :- The Delhi police on Friday busted an ISIS module and arrested two operatives for allegedly planning an IED  blast in the national capital.

The suspects, apprehended in a joint operation by intelligence agencies and special cell were already in their advance stages in executing the plan. The accused were trained to carry out Fidayeen attack, police said.

One of the suspects has been identified as Adnan. The police officials have also seized arms and ammunition. The operation is currently underway with officials expected to dismantle the network and identify other members of the module. 

“The operation was carried out by a team led by Additional Commissioner Pramod Kushwaha and ACP Lalit Mohan Negi,” a senior officer said. 

According to the sources, the ISIS-inspired modules are being run under Islamic State and ISP’s cover with backing from Pakistan’s ISI. 

As police are investigating the suspects, their apprehention is marked as significant development for security and intelligence agencies.
