Four Children Injured in Blast While Playing With Firecracker Residue in Mohali

National Times Bureau :- Four children in Mohali suffered burn injuries on Tuesday morning after a sudden explosion triggered by firecracker residue they were playing with. The incident occurred when the children, all from the same family, collected leftover gunpowder from used crackers and tried to set it alight, unaware of the risk involved.

The blast caused severe burns to their faces and hands. Family members rushed them to the Phase-6 Civil Hospital, where doctors administered first aid. Hospital authorities confirmed that the children are out of danger, though their treatment is still in progress.

Family members said the children were playing outside when the residue unexpectedly ignited. The sudden flare-up caused panic in the neighbourhood, and the family acted immediately to prevent further harm.

According to health officials, Diwali night witnessed 23 burn-related emergencies across Mohali alone. Medical teams remain on alert, and emergency instructions have already been issued to hospitals. Fire brigade staff have also been stationed at vulnerable locations in the city to respond quickly to fire-related mishaps.
