Several People Fall Ill During CM Siddaramaiah’s Event in Dakshina Kannada

National Times Bureau :- Around ten people fell ill during a large public event attended by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Puttur on Monday. The programme was called ‘Ashoka Janama 2025’.

Police said the people became sick because they did not get food and water on time, which led to dehydration and low blood sugar. Three women were given IV fluids, while the others received treatment and were discharged from the hospital.

A Congress worker said that nearly 40,000 to 50,000 people had gathered at the venue. Because of the large crowd, there was a delay in providing food and water. In total, 12 to 13 people were taken to the Puttur Government Hospital. Most of them have now recovered, and only four people are still in the hospital.

Meanwhile, when asked about the controversy over the circular banning RSS activities in schools, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the government had only repeated the same rule issued in 2013. He said that the order is not against any specific group, but applies to all organisations.

Karnataka Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa also said that the order was issued because parents and students had complained. He added that only educational activities will be allowed on school grounds.
