New Delhi (Rajeev Sharma): A bomb scare that prompted a full-scale emergency response at a school in Delhi’s Paschim Vihar area has turned out to be a false alarm, with police tracing the threat back to a student who allegedly wanted to skip an exam.

The incident took place on when the principal of Vishal Bharti Public School received a disturbing email claiming there was a bomb on the school premises. The school administration immediately contacted the police, triggering a swift response from emergency services.

“Following the alert, we deployed bomb detection teams, dog squads, and fire service units to the location,” said a senior police official. “The school was completely evacuated, and a detailed search of the entire campus was carried out.”

After an extensive investigation, no explosives or suspicious items were found, and the threat was declared a hoax.

A case was registered, and cyber experts were brought in to trace the origin of the email. During the probe, authorities identified the sender as a student of the school. According to officials, the minor confessed to sending the message during questioning.

“He admitted he was afraid of the upcoming exam and thought that a fake threat would force the school to shut down for the day,” the officer said.

The student has been taken into custody, and legal proceedings are being handled in accordance with the Juvenile Justice Act. Authorities have not disclosed any identifying information due to the student’s age.

While no harm was done, the incident caused considerable disruption and fear among students, staff, and parents. Police emphasized the seriousness of making false threats and warned of strict action against similar misuse of digital platforms in the future.

School officials are now considering counseling support for students and reviewing safety protocols to handle such situations more effectively going forward.
