Vancouver (Rajeev Sharma): The Surrey Police Service (SPS) is investigating an incident where shots were fired overnight at a café owned by Indian entertainment star Kapil Sharma, marking the third such incident since July.
Police received reports of gunfire at the business located near 85 Avenue and 120 Street around 3:45 a.m. on Thursday. Upon arrival, officers found evidence consistent with a shooting. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage and appealing to witnesses who may have been in the area at the time. Although authorities have not confirmed a motive, they are treating the case with high priority given the repeated targeting of the same establishment.
The Surrey café, popular among fans of the Indian comedian and actor, had previously been struck by gunfire twice earlier this year, prompting community concern about rising incidents of violence in the area.
The investigation remains ongoing.
