8th Senior Sports Day Unites Calgary’s Seniors in Celebration by Amrit Sagar Foundation

Calgary (Rajeev Sharma): The 8th Senior Sports Day, hosted by the Amrit Sagar Foundation at the Genesis Centre, proved to be a resounding success with over 200 seniors participating in an inspiring celebration of health, community, and togetherness.

The special memory of the day was the remarkable performance of Mr. Hansraj Sukheja, who, at 89 years old, stood out as the oldest participant, showcasing extraordinary sportsmanship and determination. Final Games Winners Male Category 1st – Pargan Singh, 2nd – Chand Singh, 3rd – Sukhwinder Singh. Female Category 1st – Xintong Zhang, 2nd – Anuradha Sharma, 3rd – Mahboubeh Azimi. The event celebrated diversity and inclusivity, with participants from India, China, Pakistan, Taiwan, Afghanistan, Russia, Bangladesh, and Nigeria. Each senior received medals and certificates, recognizing their dedication and enthusiastic participation.

Local dignitaries, including MPs, MLAs, Mayor, and City Councillors, attended the event, commending the efforts of the organizers in promoting accessible healthcare and building meaningful connections among seniors from diverse backgrounds.
