Chandigarh, September 6 — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that the state will observe “Seva Pakhwada” from September 17 to October 2, during which a series of public welfare programmes, awareness drives, and cleanliness campaigns will be carried out across the state. The initiative will also highlight and implement several commitments of both the central and state governments.
Saini chaired a high-level meeting with senior officials from various departments to chalk out the programme’s framework. Ministers also joined virtually to share their suggestions. He said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership over the past 11 years, several welfare schemes and projects have benefited the public, and Seva Pakhwada will further strengthen the spirit of service among citizens.
The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure full preparations in every department. Other departments will organize cleanliness and voluntary service drives.
The fortnight-long campaign will also include blood donation camps, plastic-free initiatives, plantation drives, and efforts to extend welfare schemes to the poor. Saini instructed officers to ensure maximum public participation and use the campaign to deliver government schemes effectively at the grassroots level.
Departments have also been asked to prepare lists of completed projects that can be dedicated to the public during the Seva Pakhwada. Each department is expected to hold at least one major event in every district, in addition to joint statewide programmes.
