Chandigarh, August 26 – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini set a unique example today by cycling from the MLA Hostel to the Assembly, accompanied by Speaker Harvinder Kalyan, cabinet members, and several legislators. The initiative, organized by the Assembly, aimed to promote drug-free living and environmental conservation.
CM Saini emphasized that regular exercise keeps people active and fit. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call of “Fit India, Healthy India”, he said, “When we practice yoga and exercise, we remain healthy, and a healthy population accelerates the pace of development.”
Appealing to the youth, Saini warned against drug addiction, calling it a threat to health, family, and society. He added that substance abuse slowly drags individuals into poverty and disease.
Highlighting state-level initiatives, the Chief Minister said cyclothon rallies and marathon events are being organized frequently to spread awareness. He added that a large number of young people are taking part in these campaigns, pledging to make Haryana drug-free and healthier.
