Chandigarh, August 26 – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini set an inspiring example on Tuesday as he cycled from the MLA Hostel to the Assembly, accompanied by Speaker Harvinder Kalyan, cabinet ministers, and several legislators. The initiative, organized by the Assembly, aimed to promote drug-free living and environmental conservation.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Saini emphasized the importance of exercise, noting that fitness keeps people active. He recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for a “Fit India, Healthy India,” stressing that yoga and regular exercise lead to good health, which in turn accelerates progress.
Appealing to the youth to stay away from drugs, Saini said that young people are the nation’s greatest asset, but drug addiction destroys this invaluable strength. He warned that substance abuse harms health, families, and society, ultimately pushing individuals toward poverty and disease.

Highlighting ongoing awareness efforts, the Chief Minister said that cyclothon rallies and marathon events are being regularly organized across the state. A large number of young people, he added, are participating in these campaigns and pledging to build a drug-free and healthier Haryana.
