Gurugram (Balwinder Singh): The residence of YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav came under attack in the early hours of Sunday, when three armed assailants opened fire outside his house in Sector 57. Although multiple rounds were discharged, no injuries were reported.
According to police, the attackers arrived on a motorcycle around 5:30 am. While one stayed on the bike, the other two opened fire, leaving windows and doors on the first floor riddled with bullet marks. Yadav was not at home at the time of the incident.
Soon after, an Instagram account allegedly linked to the Bhau Gang claimed responsibility for the shooting. The post, which displayed the caption “Bhau Gang Since 2020” along with a two-gun graphic, alleged that Yadav was targeted for promoting illegal betting apps. It carried a chilling warning that “insects like Elvish Yadav” would face consequences, either by a phone call or a bullet.
Police sources said the message attributed the attack to fugitives Himanshu Bhau, reportedly based in Portugal, and Neeraj Faridpuria, another gangster operating abroad. However, officials stressed that the authenticity of the post remains unconfirmed.
This is not the first time the gang has tried to project its influence through violence. In July, one of its members had claimed credit for firing at singer Rahul Fazilpura’s vehicle.
Police Response
“More than a dozen rounds were fired outside the house. Fortunately, no one was injured. CCTV footage is being examined, and investigations are underway,” said Sandeep Kumar, PRO, Gurugram Police.
Meanwhile, Yadav’s father stated that the family was unaware of any threats prior to the attack. “Two people got off the motorcycle and opened fire, while the third waited. They fired about 25–30 bullets before fleeing. Elvish had not received any threats before, and he is currently out of town for work,” he explained.
Investigation Progress
Authorities are in the process of registering a case and have intensified surveillance in the area. Teams are also tracing digital footprints of the social media post to determine whether it originated from the gang members named in it.
