Uttarakhand CM Dhami Hands Over Appointment Letters to 187 Selected Candidates

Dehradun (Rajeev Sharma): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami distributed appointment letters to 144 candidates selected for various posts in the Irrigation Department and 43 eligible dependents under the deceased dependent quota in the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation, making it a total of 187 appointments.

Extending his best wishes to the new recruits, CM Dhami urged them to work with honesty, integrity, transparency, and dedication. He also highlighted the government’s efforts to clear long-pending appointments under the deceased dependent quota. “Last year, we provided appointment letters to 150 dependents, and today, 43 more have received their long-awaited appointments,” Dhami said.

The Chief Minister further stated that the state-owned Transport Corporation recorded a profit of over ₹56 crore in 2024, attributing this success to the government’s policies and reforms.

Addressing the issue of recruitment malpractice in the past, Dhami noted that “favoritism, rigging, and corruption” had once plagued the process. “To address these challenges, we introduced the country’s most stringent anti-copying law. Today, recruitments in Uttarakhand are conducted with full transparency and merit, ensuring that deserving candidates benefit from their skills and hard work,” he added. Over the past three and a half years, more than 23,000 youths have secured government jobs in the state, he said.

Reiterating his government’s zero-tolerance policy against corruption, Dhami emphasized the importance of using indigenous products in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for self-reliance. “Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is committed to contributing to the vision of an Atmanirbhar Bharat,” he said.

Speaking about the newly recruited candidates in the Irrigation Department, the CM said they would play a crucial role in designing irrigation projects, preparing development frameworks, and delivering water to farmers’ fields. He added that several state agitators had also been selected under the horizontal reservation quota, which he described as “a proud moment for everyone.”

Cabinet Minister Satpal Maharaj, who also attended the event at Mukhya Sevak Sadan, praised the Dhami-led government for providing government jobs to over 23,000 youths. “With the help of these new recruits, the irrigation department will become more capable and further accelerate development in the state,” Maharaj said.
