CM Nayab Singh Saini Urges New Recruits to Prioritize Public Welfare in Government Service

“Haryana is the Land of Progress and Innovation, Reaching New Heights in Every Field” – CM Saini

Corrupt Hiring Practices of the Past Replaced by Merit-Based Jobs, Says CM

Chandigarh, August 2 – Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini emphasized that government employees are the backbone of the state’s administration and play a crucial role in its development. He urged all public servants, regardless of their department, to embrace the principle of “public interest above all” and work collectively toward building a strong, inclusive, and self-reliant Haryana.

The Chief Minister was speaking as the chief guest at an induction program for newly appointed Group-D employees held in Panchkula.

Government Jobs: A Service to the Nation

CM Saini congratulated the new recruits and reminded them that government jobs are not merely employment opportunities but a chance to serve the motherland and society. He described public servants as the most vital link between the government and the citizens.

Haryana’s Rise Across Sectors

He proudly noted that Haryana has emerged as a leading state in India, making remarkable progress in agriculture, industry, education, health, sports, women’s empowerment, and digital governance. He attributed this success not only to policymakers but also to the dedication and integrity of government employees.

Merit-Based Hiring: A Break from the Past

Taking a jab at opposition leaders, Saini highlighted the difference between the current and previous regimes. “During election campaigns, opposition leaders used to auction jobs—’Give me 50 votes and I’ll give you a job,’ they said,” Saini recalled. “But our government has eradicated such corrupt systems and ensured employment based strictly on merit. Now, children from poor families are getting government jobs and realizing their dreams.”

Commitment to Zero Tolerance on Corruption

CM Saini reaffirmed his government’s commitment to transparency and integrity. “Since 2014, we have worked with the motto ‘Public Service is the Highest Duty.’ Our zero-tolerance policy on corruption is no longer just on paper—it is a reality on the ground.”

Employee Welfare and Modern Work Culture

The state government, he said, supports employees through training, skill development, and welfare initiatives. Haryana has promoted modern infrastructure, digital processes, and an efficient work culture. The government has provided 30,000 jobs in its third term and replaced interviews for Group C and D positions with written exams to ensure fairness.

Additionally, over 2,083 job fairs have been held, connecting over 1.06 lakh youth to private sector jobs. He also announced that Haryana government employees will benefit from the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) starting August 1, 2025, impacting over 2 lakh employees.

Smooth Conduct of Common Eligibility Test (CET)

The CM praised the successful organization of the recent CET for Group C posts on July 26–27, citing the coordinated efforts of officials, roadways, private schools, and NGOs to ensure hassle-free participation for candidates.

Youth Minister Gaurav Gautam Backs Transparent Governance

Minister of State for Sports, Youth Empowerment, and Entrepreneurship Gaurav Gautam lauded CM Saini’s “no recommendation, no expense” hiring policy, under which 24,000 youth were employed transparently. He said Haryana has become a national leader in transparency and honesty.

He contrasted today’s merit-based system with the pre-2014 environment, where youth were forced to run behind politicians and brokers for jobs. “Now they prepare in coaching centers, sports grounds, and libraries. This transformation is due to the CM’s visionary leadership.”

A Foundation for Honest Governance

Gautam concluded by urging new employees to serve with dedication and loyalty. He expressed confidence that Haryana’s example would soon become a national benchmark in ethical governance.

The event was attended by MLA Shakti Rani Sharma, former Speaker Gian Chand Gupta, Panchkula Mayor Kulbhushan Goyal, ACS Sudhir Rajpal (Women & Child Development), Dr. Amit Agrawal (Information & Culture), C.G. Rajinikanth (HR Department), and Director Vinay Pratap Singh, among other dignitaries.
