Dehradun, (Rajeev Sharma): Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched a book titled “Continuous Welfare of Students” at a special event held at the Chief Minister’s residence auditorium in Dehradun on Saturday. The publication, focused on student-centric policies and development, aims to guide and inspire ongoing efforts in the field of education and youth welfare.
Earlier in the day, CM Dhami also participated in the solemn tribute ceremony organized to mark the 26th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas at Shaheed Smarak, Gandhi Park. The Chief Minister laid floral wreaths and paid heartfelt tributes to the brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice during the 1999 Kargil War.
In a message shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), CM Dhami wrote, “On Kargil Vijay Diwas, I offer countless salutations to the immortal heroes who laid down their lives for the nation’s sovereignty and honour. This day is a timeless chapter in India’s military history, embodying the unmatched courage, sacrifice, and devotion of our armed forces.”
Speaking at the event, CM Dhami warmly welcomed dignitaries, veterans, and family members of the martyrs in attendance. Reflecting on India’s growing strength, he remarked, “Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, India is becoming increasingly self-reliant, particularly in the defence sector. We are forging ahead with pride and purpose.”
Recalling the courage of Indian troops in the Kargil conflict, Dhami added, “Even today, the spirit of our soldiers echoes through the mountains and valleys of Kargil. With the tricolour wrapped around their foreheads, our brave soldiers charged ahead with such might that the enemy stood no chance. Their heroism continues to inspire generations.”
The day’s events served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by the Indian Armed Forces, and as a reaffirmation of the state’s commitment to honouring their legacy—both through words and action.
