Chandigarh (National Times): Amarjit Singh Mehta has been re-elected as the President of the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) following the association’s Annual General Body Meeting held on Saturday at the New Chandigarh Stadium.
All office-bearers for the upcoming three-year term were elected unopposed, as confirmed by Electoral Officer Rajeev Sharma (IAS Retd).
New PCA Office-Bearers:
- President: Amarjit Singh Mehta
- Vice-President: Deepak Bali
- Secretary: Kulwant Singh
- Joint Secretary: Siddhant Sharma
- Treasurer: Sunil Gupta
Among the key office-bearers, Kulwant Singh, an AAP MLA from Mohali, and Deepak Bali, adviser to the Punjab Heritage and Tourism Board, bring political and administrative experience to the panel. Sunil Gupta, a Bathinda-based businessman and vice-chairman of the Punjab Economic Policy and Planning Board, holds the rank of a cabinet minister.
Gupta shared that the PCA’s general body unanimously approved all agenda items, including the continuation of the Sher-e-Punjab T20 League for the 2025-2026 season.

Players and Coaches Felicitated
The event also saw the felicitation of players and coaches who excelled in various domestic tournaments:
- Uday Pratap Saharan, captain of the Punjab U-23 men’s team, and head coach VRV Singh were honoured for victories in the Col CK Nayudu Trophy, U-23 State-A Trophy, and Col CK Nayudu Trophy vs Rest of India.
- Umesh Gill, skipper of the U-16 men’s team, and coach RP Singh were recognized for leading the team to the runners-up position in the Vijay Merchant Trophy.
- Jyoti, captain of the Punjab U-15 women’s team, and coach Yograj were felicitated for guiding the team to runner-up finish in the national one-day tournament.
The re-election and awards reflect a strong momentum in Punjab’s cricketing journey, with stakeholders hopeful for further progress in the seasons ahead.
