London, July 6 — Novak Djokovic etched his name deeper into Wimbledon history on Saturday, becoming only the third player ever to record 100 singles victories at the prestigious tournament.
The seven-time Wimbledon champion eased past compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic 6-3, 6-0, 6-4 on Centre Court, notching the century milestone in his 20th appearance at the All England Club.
“Any history that I make in my favorite tournament, I’m blessed,” Djokovic, 38, told the crowd in his on-court interview.
He joins an elite group alongside Martina Navratilova, who leads with 120 singles wins, and Roger Federer, who finished his career with 105 Wimbledon singles victories.
Djokovic dominated the third-round clash, reeling off nine consecutive games from 3-3 in the opening set and finishing with 60 winners, 19 unforced errors, and 16 aces. His highlight reel included a stunning diving backhand volley winner to secure a crucial break in the first set, leaving Kecmanovic visibly demoralized.
“I try not to take anything for granted, particularly at this age,” said Djokovic, who has lost the past two Wimbledon finals to Carlos Alcaraz. “Still going strong, still trying to compete with the young players and push myself to the limit.”
Djokovic now faces No. 11 seed Alex de Minaur for a spot in the quarterfinals. A potential semifinal showdown with current world No. 1 Jannik Sinner looms if he advances further.
