Punjabi Music Icons Honoured in British Columbia's Legislative Assembly

Victoria, BC (National Times): In a celebration of culture and global musical influence, renowned Punjabi singers Jazzy B, Chani Nattan, and Inderpal Moga were warmly welcomed at the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia yesterday. The artists were hosted for a special lunch at the Parliamentary Dining Room, marking a memorable cultural exchange in the heart of Canadian politics.

The singers also had the opportunity to meet Premier David Eby, posing for photographs that quickly circulated online among fans and followers. Their presence was not only a matter of fanfare, it was officially recognized in the legislature itself.

Conservative MLA Steve Kooner praised the trio during the assembly session, highlighting their contributions to Punjabi music and their role in uniting communities through art. “These artists have taken Punjabi music and culture to a global stage and have made both British Columbians and Punjabis around the world proud,” he said.

The event underscored the growing influence of Punjabi music across the globe, especially in Canada, which is home to one of the largest Punjabi diasporas outside India.
