BJP to Launch Tiranga Yatra Honoring Armed Forces, Celebrating Operation Sindoor Victory

New Delhi (National Times): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a nationwide Tiranga Yatra, a 10-day campaign from May 13 to 23, to commemorate the success of Operation Sindoor and pay tribute to the Indian Armed Forces. The initiative is aimed at highlighting India’s robust counter-terrorism response following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam.

The Yatra will span multiple states and be led by senior BJP leaders, Union ministers, and chief ministers. It was formally introduced by BJP National President J.P. Nadda, who emphasized the Yatra as a moment of unity and national pride. Party leaders Sambit Patra, Vinod Tawde, and Tarun Chugh have been appointed to oversee the coordination of the massive outreach campaign.

Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, resulted in the destruction of nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), with an estimated 70–100 militants neutralized. The strikes came in direct response to the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians and marked one of the most significant cross-border counterterror operations in recent years.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said the Yatra aims to honor the valor of the Indian forces and reinforce the government’s zero-tolerance stance on terrorism. “The Tiranga Yatra will unite citizens across India in saluting our brave soldiers and reaffirming our national resolve for peace and security,” he said.

The campaign will feature mass rallies, public addresses, and cultural programs dedicated to the armed forces, as well as showcasing India’s technological defense capabilities, including the deployment of the S-400 air defense system that repelled Pakistani strikes on May 8 and 9.
