Panipat/Chandigarh, April 12 – Union Minister for Power, Housing, and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal, on Saturday emphasized the transformative power of education during an awards ceremony at Geeta University, Naultha, in Panipat district. Addressing the students as the chief guest, he underscored that education not only imparts values but also opens the door to employment and a better quality of life.
Haryana’s Development and Panchayats Minister, Krishan Lal Panwar, also attended the event as a special guest. Both ministers were warmly welcomed with bouquets and mementoes by the university authorities.
Manohar Lal congratulated the students who excelled in various fields and said that true education is rooted in values. He stressed that the purpose of education must be guided by a clear sense of direction, enabling individuals to lead enriched lives while contributing to society. He also thanked parents, acknowledging that the students’ achievements were a result of their dedication and cultural upbringing.
Encouraging the youth to dream big, he urged students to aim for accomplishments that the country would remember for generations. “Those who serve the nation well are remembered not for decades, but for thousands of years,” he said. He also advocated adopting the ‘Triple R’ principle as a foundation for life—although he did not elaborate on its components.
Speaking at the event, Development and Panchayats Minister Krishan Lal Panwar reaffirmed the Haryana government’s commitment to all-round development. He noted that the government is working with sincerity wherever there’s potential for progress. “By 2047, India will be recognized globally as a developed nation,” he said, citing the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Panwar outlined several initiatives in rural development, including paving village boundary roads (phirnis), installing street lights, and establishing e-libraries. He announced plans for new gymnasiums in villages like Chhattarpur and the construction of cremation grounds outside every village, complete with proper access roads and essential amenities like electricity and water.
He also revealed that beautification projects for all village ponds across Haryana are underway as part of the state’s ongoing infrastructure improvements.
