MP Sanjeev Arora Reviews Ludhiana’s Civic Projects, Orders Dengue Prevention Measures

Ludhiana, March 25, 2025: Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora chaired a review meeting with municipal corporation officials on Tuesday at Circuit House, assessing the progress of ongoing city development projects.

Arora expressed satisfaction with the pace of work but stressed complete preparedness for the upcoming dengue season. He directed officials to launch large-scale cleanliness drives to prevent mosquito breeding. In case of shortages in suction machines or manpower, he urged immediate procurement of necessary resources from within or outside Punjab.

He identified cow dung accumulation in Wards 62, 63, and 64—home to numerous dairies—as a key factor in mosquito proliferation. He ordered timely collection and disposal of waste and directed comprehensive fogging and sewer clearance across the city.

Turning to road infrastructure, Arora pushed for urgent repairs of damaged roads, proper street lighting, and installation of reflectors to enhance safety. He also instructed officials to begin mapping areas in need of new roads.

During the meeting, Arora spoke with Chief Engineers in Chandigarh, urging the clearance of all pending MC proposals to prevent administrative delays affecting residents.

Reviewing 300 municipal parks, he sought proposals to encourage industrialists to adopt parks for better maintenance. With summer approaching, he directed officials to ensure all electric motors at tubewells remain functional to prevent water shortages.

He concluded by setting a mid-April deadline for the completion of all pending civic works at the ground level.
