Alberta Sikh Games to Debut in Calgary from April 18 to 20th

Calgary ( Rajeev Sharma), March 23 2025: Dashmesh Culture Centre (DCC) is set to host the 1st Alberta Sikh Games from April 18 to April 20 at the Genesis Centre in Calgary. This historic event aims to bring together athletes, community members, and sports enthusiasts to celebrate Sikh heritage through sports and unity.

DCC Chairman Gurjit Singh announced that the event will feature a wide range of competitions, including Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, Field Hockey, Badminton, Gatka, and Tug of War. The opening ceremony athletics will include 100m, 200m, and 400m races, providing a platform for athletes to showcase their talent and spirit. Participants from across the province are expected to compete, fostering camaraderie, inclusivity, and cultural pride.

The last date for submission of participation forms is March 31 at DCC, with no entry fees for any competition. DCC Secretary Ravinder  Singh highlighted that the society, known for its commitment to cultural and social initiatives, hopes this event will become an annual tradition, strengthening community bonds and encouraging youth participation in sports.
