PM Modi Pays Tribute to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, Calls Him a Visionary Leader

New Delhi, March 23, 2025 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the tributes to Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia on his birth anniversary, honoring him as a visionary leader, fierce freedom fighter, and icon of social justice.



In a post on X, PM Modi highlighted Lohia’s dedication to empowering the underprivileged and building a strong India. “A visionary leader, fierce freedom fighter, and an icon of social justice, he dedicated his life to empowering the underprivileged and building a strong India,” he wrote.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised Lohia for his unwavering commitment to principles and patriotism, highlighting his thoughts on women’s education, social equality, and political purity as an inspiration for all.

BJP President JP Nadda referred to Lohia as the pioneer of “Sapt Kranti”, lauding his efforts towards uplifting the deprived classes and ensuring social justice. “His nationalist thinking and dedication to social empowerment will always inspire us,” he stated.

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also extended their tributes, recognizing Lohia as a great freedom fighter and thinker.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath honored Lohia’s lifelong fight for social justice, while Union Minister Kiren Rijiju acknowledged his struggle for the rights of the poor and deprived.

Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, a stalwart of Indian socialism, played a key role in India’s freedom movement and post-independence politics, advocating for social justice, economic equality, and grassroots democracy. His ideas continue to inspire leaders across the political spectrum.
