Merchant Navy Officer Murdered by Wife and Her Lover, Body Found in Cement-Sealed Drum

Lucknow, March 19, 2025 – A shocking case of betrayal and murder has surfaced in the Indira Nagar area, where a 29-year-old merchant navy officer, Saurabh Rajput, was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife and her lover. The accused then dismembered his body, sealed it inside a drum with cement, and tried to cover up the crime.

According to Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ayush Vikram Singh, Rajput, a resident of Brahmpuri’s Indira Nagar Phase 2, had been missing since March 4. His family reported his disappearance, prompting the police to launch an investigation.

Suspicion soon fell on Rajput’s wife, Muskan (27), and her lover, Sahil (25). During interrogation, the duo confessed to the crime. Police said that on March 4, Muskan and Sahil stabbed Rajput to death, dismembered his body, stuffed the remains into a drum, and filled it with cement to conceal the evidence.

The body has been recovered and sent for post-mortem. A case has been registered based on a complaint from Rajput’s family. Police revealed that Muskan tried to mislead Rajput’s family by sending messages from his phone after the murder, to make it seem like he was still alive.

In a chilling twist, Muskan and Sahil reportedly went on a vacation to a hill station shortly after committing the crime. Police believe this was an attempt to create an alibi and divert suspicion.

Rajput and Muskan had a love marriage in 2016 despite opposition from their families. The couple had been living separately in a rented house in Indira Nagar Phase 1 with their three-year-old daughter.

Police are now investigating the motive behind the murder, including the possibility of financial and personal disputes. The accused have been taken into custody and are expected to face murder and conspiracy charges.
