New Delhi, February 27, 2025 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take part in the grand Sufi music festival, Jahan-e-Khusrau 2025, at Sunder Nursery in New Delhi. This marks the first time the Prime Minister will attend the prestigious event, highlighting his commitment to promoting India’s diverse artistic and cultural heritage, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
The festival, organized by the Rumi Foundation, is a tribute to the legendary Amir Khusrau, a revered Sufi poet and musician. Launched in 2001 by filmmaker and artist Muzaffar Ali, Jahan-e-Khusrau has grown into a global celebration of Sufi music and is now marking its 25th anniversary. This year, the festival will be held from February 28 to March 2, featuring renowned artists from around the world.
During the event, PM Modi will also visit “TEH Bazaar” (The Exploration of Handmade), an exhibition that highlights India’s rich handicraft traditions. The bazaar showcases One District-One Product (ODOP) crafts, unique artefacts, and short films on handicrafts and handlooms from various regions of the country.
With a fusion of music, art, and cultural exhibitions, Jahan-e-Khusrau 2025 promises to be a vibrant platform celebrating the mystical and artistic legacy of Sufism while reinforcing India’s deep-rooted artistic traditions.
