Bharat Vikas Parishad Facilitates Posthumous Eye Donation of 157th Individual

Dera Bassi, February 20 – The social service organization Bharat Vikas Parishad, Dera Bassi, has been actively spreading awareness about posthumous eye donation. Their efforts have yielded remarkable success, with 157 individuals donating their eyes, restoring vision for 314 visually impaired individuals.

Press Secretary Parmjeet Rammi Saini shared that Narendra Kumar Tiwari (94) of ATS Dera Bassi recently passed away. With the consent of his daughter, Sushma Tinjani, and the encouragement of social worker Barkha Ram, his eyes were donated, and his body was handed over to PGI Hospital, Chandigarh, for medical research.

Dedicated Efforts Towards Organ Donation

Bharat Vikas Parishad, Dera Bassi, has also facilitated the donation of five bodies for medical purposes, furthering its commitment to humanitarian service.

During the event, Vice President of Eastern Punjab Sushil Vyas, Regional Secretary Somnath Sharma, Dera Bassi Parishad President Surinder Arora, Secretary Hatinder Mohan Sharma, Treasurer Vishal Sharma, and other members extended their condolences to the bereaved family.
