Dinanagar, February 13, 2025– The district administration established a ‘Wall of Fame’ at the SDM office in Dinanagar, which was inaugurated today by Deputy Commissioner Uma Shankar Gupta. The event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Harjinder Singh Bedi, SDM Dinanagar Jaspinder Singh Bhullar, ASP Dilpreet Singh, Tehsildar Abhishek Verma, other officials, and social workers.
During the inauguration, Deputy Commissioner Uma Shankar Gupta emphasized that the residents of the border district of Gurdaspur have made remarkable achievements in various fields, serving as an inspiration for the younger generation. The ‘Wall of Fame’ displays portraits of notable personalities from the Dinanagar tehsil who have excelled in different domains. These include Dr. Harjinder Singh Bedi, IAS (Additional Deputy Commissioner, Gurdaspur), Rajinder Kashyap (former IAS officer), Dr. Gulzar Cheema (MLA, Canada), Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Ankush Malhotra (Indian Army), BSF officer Rajneesh Kashyap, Dr. Manpreet Kaur (Assistant Commandant, BSF Medical Officer), renowned singer Jasbir Jassi, Civil Judge Amandeep Singh Ghumman, Civil Judge Divyani Luthra, DSP Gurdaspur Lovkesh Saini, Naib Tehsildar Mandeep Singh Saini, scientist Priyanka Nair, Medical Officer Dr. Karandeep Singh Bedi, Indian Army officer Harinder Singh, prominent businessman Mohit Sharma, and Punjab Police Sub-Inspector Rachna Kashyap.
A special empty photo frame has also been placed on the ‘Wall of Fame’ to inspire young boys and girls to strive for excellence so that their pictures can one day be featured there. Deputy Commissioner Gupta also highlighted that a ‘Pink Wall of Fame’ has already been established at the District Administrative Complex to honor the distinguished daughters of the district. He expressed pride in the accomplishments of these individuals, stating that such initiatives by the district administration will encourage the youth to achieve greater heights.
