Patna, February 11, 2025: In recent years, the name Manoj Pandey has risen rapidly in the Bhojpuri film industry. Hailing from Shahdol district in Madhya Pradesh, Manoj has written several hit Bhojpuri films, establishing himself as one of the most sought-after writers in the industry. After completing his graduation, Manoj Pandey began his career as a writer in 2012 with the Bhojpuri film Kalia, featuring Haider Kazmi and Akshara Singh in lead roles. Since then, he has penned scripts for over 50 Bhojpuri films, most of which have turned out to be major hits.
During a conversation, Manoj revealed that if he hadn’t become a writer for Bhojpuri films, his dream was to become a teacher. Interestingly, his parents, the late Shri Ramkrishna Pandey and the late Vimla Pandey, had hoped he would become a government officer. Although Manoj never pursued teaching as a profession, he believes that through cinema, he is still fulfilling the role of an educator. According to him, cinema is a powerful medium that can inspire change in society.
The turning point in Manoj Pandey’s career came with the film Dabangg Sarkar, starring Khesari Lal Yadav and Akanksha Awasthi in lead roles. This film changed the course of his life, opening doors to numerous opportunities in Bhojpuri cinema. Apart from Dabangg Sarkar, Manoj has written popular films like Babuli Ki Baraat featuring Shubham Tiwari and Preeti Shukla, Mandap with Dinesh Lal Yadav and Amrapali Dubey, Rakt Bhoomi starring Ravi Kishan and Monalisa, Shubh Vivah with Pramod Premi, Mard Tangewala featuring Viraj Bhatt and Anjana Singh, and Shaadi By Chance with Arvind Akela Kallu and Akanksha Dubey. He also penned Maa Bhavani starring Amrapali Dubey.
Manoj Pandey’s upcoming film Lakhan Singh, featuring Bhojpuri superstar Pawan Singh in the lead role, is set to release soon, and expectations are already sky-high.
