YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra Sent to 14-Day Judicial Custody in Pakistan Espionage Case

Hisar, May 26, 2025: YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, arrested over alleged espionage links with Pakistan, was remanded to 14 days of judicial custody by a Hisar court on Monday. Her court appearance followed the conclusion of her police remand and was conducted amid tight security.

Covering her face with a cloth, Jyoti was escorted into the courtroom and later taken away in a police vehicle. During interrogation, she reportedly denied all charges, stating her visit to Pakistan was for content creation and vlogging only, and claimed she had received no foreign funding.

However, investigators allege that Jyoti was in contact with a Pakistani Intelligence Operative (PIO) and had links to Danish, a staff member at the Pakistan High Commission.

Her father, Harish Malhotra, defended her innocence and criticized police for what he called repeated detentions without substantial evidence. He also appealed to the government for legal aid, citing financial constraints preventing the family from hiring a private attorney.

The investigation remains ongoing as Jyoti continues in judicial custody.
