Chandigarh, November 1: On the occasion of Haryana Day, the state government extended a major gift to women, reinforcing its commitment to women’s empowerment and financial independence. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday released ₹2,100 each to 5,22,162 eligible women beneficiaries under the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana, transferring a total of ₹109.65 crore directly into their bank accounts.
Saini said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “guarantee” and his own “commitment” are transforming Haryana through welfare-oriented governance. “This initiative is not just a scheme but a reflection of our government’s transparent policy and honest intent toward women’s empowerment,” he said while addressing a press conference organized to mark Haryana Day. Tourism and Heritage Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma and Health Minister Kumari Aarti Singh Rao were also present. Symbolically, cheques were distributed to 21 women beneficiaries during the event.
The Chief Minister recalled that the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi App was launched on September 25, 2025 — the 109th birth anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya. By midnight of October 31, as many as 6,97,697 women had successfully applied through the app, including 6,51,529 married and 46,168 unmarried women. Saini explained that the scheme benefits all women aged 23 and above whose family income is below ₹1 lakh per year. Every eligible woman in such families can avail of the scheme. The application process is completely transparent and online, accessible via the Lado Lakshmi Mobile App from anywhere, anytime. Once an application is submitted, the verification process is completed within 24 to 48 hours, and eligible women are notified via SMS to upload a live photo for e-KYC verification. Upon successful verification, a unique ID is generated, and the financial assistance is credited directly to their accounts.
As of last midnight, out of 6,97,697 total applicants, 5,22,162 women had been verified and declared eligible. Of these, 3,96,983 had completed their Aadhaar-based e-KYC, while 1,75,179 were still pending. Saini urged women whose e-KYC is incomplete to finish it promptly so they can receive their financial assistance without delay.
