Vrindavan (Rajeev Sharma): Vrindavan is preparing for a substantial influx of devotees during New Year 2026, with estimates indicating that more than five lakh (500,000+) pilgrims are expected to visit the holy town during the period. The surge is attributed to Vrindavan’s deep spiritual significance, with the Shri Banke Bihari Ji Maharaj Temple remaining the principal centre of devotion for visitors during the New Year.
In view of the anticipated turnout, authorities are gearing up for heavy congestion, extended waiting hours, and enhanced safety and security arrangements, particularly in and around the Banke Bihari Temple. Traffic regulation and controlled pedestrian movement are expected to be implemented to ensure smooth access and public safety.

A high-powered committee headed by retired Judge Justice Ashok Kumar has been constituted to oversee the day-to-day functioning of the Banke Bihari Ji Maharaj Temple. A recent meeting of the committee was attended by all members, Shri Shailendra Kumar Singh, Shri Satyapal Singh, Shri Nagendra Pratap, Shri Yogesh Dutt Vyas, Shri Ram Prasad Goswami, Shri Haribabu Goswami, Smt. Nandini Goswami, Dr. Chandana Goswami, Shri Rajpal Singh, Shri Jagdish Prasad, and Shri Mahesh Chand Sharma.
During the meeting, the committee finalised a comprehensive New Year plan, placing top priority on the health, safety, and security of all devotees. It was decided that retired Army personnel will be deployed to assist in disciplined crowd management, regulate queues, and support the administration in ensuring an orderly darshan experience. In addition, health services will be strengthened, with medical assistance, emergency response teams, and first-aid facilities arranged at key locations to address any medical needs of devotees. The committee emphasized that all necessary safety, security, and logistical arrangements are being put in place to make the journey of devotees to the Shri Banke Bihari Ji Maharaj Temple smooth and convenient.
Devotees have been advised to cooperate with officials, follow issued guidelines, and remain patient during peak hours. Further advisories related to traffic management, entry schedules, and public convenience measures are expected to be issued closer to New Year 2026. Authorities reiterated that coordinated planning and public cooperation will be essential to ensure a safe, peaceful, and well-managed New Year for devotees visiting Vrindavan.
