Viral PoK Video Raises Questions Amid Ongoing Red Fort Blast Investigation

New Delhi (Rajeev Sharma): A controversial video featuring former Pakistan-occupied Kashmir Prime Minister Anwarul Haq has triggered fresh scrutiny from Indian security agencies, after he appeared to hint at involvement in violence targeting India — including a pointed reference that echoes this month’s deadly Red Fort explosion.

The undated footage, which surfaced across social media platforms in recent days, shows Haq claiming that attacks against India would range “from the Red Fort to the forests of Kashmir.” He goes on to assert that such actions have already been carried out, a remark that has fuelled speculation about a possible link to the November 10 car-borne IED detonation that killed 15 people and injured several dozen near the heritage site.

Officials caution that the video’s timing, context and authenticity have not been independently verified. Nonetheless, the direct mention of the Red Fort — just days after the blast — has intensified concerns about potential cross-border direction or encouragement.

The National Investigation Agency, which is leading the inquiry into the bombing, has identified the bomber as Umer Un Nabi, a lecturer from Pulwama who authorities say was radicalised before driving the explosive-laden vehicle to the site. Investigators have questioned a wide pool of witnesses — over 70 so far — as they examine whether the attack was part of a coordinated effort involving operatives spread across multiple states.

According to officials, the probe is focusing heavily on a group described as a “white-collar network,” whose members are suspected of planning or facilitating aspects of the operation while maintaining outwardly routine professional lives. Their digital communications, financial activities, and travel patterns are currently under forensic review.

While intelligence assessments have pointed to possible ideological or logistical support from Jaish-e-Mohammad handlers, officers emphasise that no definitive electronic link has yet been established connecting the arrested suspects to any organisers based in Pakistan. Investigators continue to work through encrypted digital trails and cross-border communication channels to determine the extent of external involvement.

Security analysts say the viral video — whether authentic or rhetorical — adds a troubling layer to an already complex investigation. Agencies are now examining whether Haq’s comments reflect deliberate provocation, propaganda, or an admission tied to a larger plot still under the radar.
