National Times Bureau :- Tensions flared in the city on Thursday when workers of the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) clashed violently during a political demonstration.
Eyewitnesses reported that the altercation began with heated arguments between members of both parties, which soon escalated into stone-pelting and physical confrontations. Several workers sustained minor injuries, while property in the vicinity was damaged in the chaos.
Police forces were rushed to the spot to disperse the crowd and restore order. Law enforcement authorities have registered cases against unidentified individuals from both sides and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify those involved in the violence.
Local leaders from both parties have traded allegations, accusing each other of provoking the clash for political mileage. Senior officials have appealed for calm and warned of strict action against those found responsible.
