National Times Bureau :- The panchayat of Upli village has taken a strong step to save youngsters from drugs and addiction. The village has completely banned the sale and use of energy drinks like Sting, Charge, Red Bull, and Hell.
Big boards have been put up at the entry points of the village to inform people about the ban. The panchayat has also warned that any shopkeeper who sells energy drinks will face a social boycott. Local shopkeepers have supported this decision and said they will not keep such products.
The sarpanch explained that energy drinks, especially those in red and blue cans, have very high caffeine. This can harm health and may even push youth towards drugs in the long run.
Along with this ban, the panchayat has announced nine strict rules for the whole village. These include:
- No energy drinks will be sold, or else there will be social boycott.
- Anyone caught selling or using drugs will not get any help from the village or panchayat.
- Migrants living in the village must have police verification, and landlords must share the report with the panchayat.
The sarpanch said these steps will help keep youngsters safe, healthy, and disciplined, and will protect the village from the problem of drugs.
