Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Reaffirms Zero-Tolerance Policy on Corruption and Exam Malpractices

Dehradun, October 10, 2025: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has reiterated that his government is committed to a strict zero-tolerance policy against corruption and irregularities, emphasizing transparency and accountability at all administrative levels.

According to a press release from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), any official found engaging in irregularities will face the strictest action, regardless of rank or position. This comes as the government accelerates proceedings in a land purchase irregularities case in Gram Sarai, Haridwar. Departmental action has been initiated against three officers: former District Magistrate Karmendra Singh, former Municipal Commissioner Varun Chaudhary, and then Sub-Divisional Magistrate Ajayveer Singh, who is currently suspended.

Ajayveer Singh is facing disciplinary action under the Uttarakhand Government Servant (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 2003, following a charge sheet. He submitted a written statement on September 16, 2025, denying all allegations. To ensure impartiality, Dr. Anand Srivastava (IAS) has been appointed as the Inquiry Officer and is expected to submit a report within one month. For the remaining two officers, Sachin Kurve (IAS) has been designated as the Inquiry Officer.

The Chief Minister also addressed the recent Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) 2025 exam paper leak. He confirmed that authorities had acted promptly, arresting the accused and constituting a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the recruitment malpractice. CM Dhami assured students that a CBI inquiry would be conducted to protect their interests and maintain transparency.

Highlighting the government’s anti-cheating measures, CM Dhami stated that more than 25,000 youths have secured government jobs in the past four years, while over 100 members of cheating mafias have been jailed under the state’s strict anti-cheating law. He stressed that the government’s actions aim to safeguard the future and interests of the youth, countering claims that the administration was bowing to external pressures.

CM Dhami emphasized, “I can bow my head and even sacrifice myself to protect the interests of our youth,” reiterating his administration’s firm stance on accountability, transparency, and youth protection.
