Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Hands Over Appointment Letters to 220 Medical Officers, Extends Ghee Sankranti Greetings

Dehradun, August 17, 2025 — Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami distributed appointment letters to around 220 newly recruited medical officers on Saturday, marking another step in strengthening the state’s health services. According to the government, more than 24,000 youths have secured government jobs in Uttarakhand over the last four years under CM Dhami’s leadership.

Addressing the event, CM Dhami said that the induction of medical officers would ensure patients receive timely medical services and help improve staff efficiency in medical colleges. He stressed that the government is committed to expanding health services and upgrading public health infrastructure across the state.

“I am confident that after the appointment of 220 medical officers, patients will be able to get immediate medical services in our medical colleges. Along with this, the efficiency of the staff will also improve. Under the direction of the Prime Minister, our government is constantly making efforts to expand health services. Our government has focused on strengthening the infrastructure of public health in the state,” Dhami said.

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister extended warm greetings to the people of Uttarakhand on the occasion of Ghee Sankranti (Ghyu Tyar), a traditional folk festival celebrated with enthusiasm in the hill state.

Highlighting the cultural importance of the festival, CM Dhami described folk traditions as living symbols of Uttarakhand’s heritage and said they serve as invaluable treasures that connect generations. Sharing a message on X, he prayed for the prosperity, happiness, and good health of the people on this occasion.

“Heartfelt greetings and congratulations to all of you on the traditional folk festival of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand, Ghee Sankranti (Ghyu Tyar). Our folk festivals are not only symbols of our rich culture and heritage but also invaluable treasures that connect generations. I pray to God that this sacred festival brings happiness, prosperity, and excellent health into your life,” he wrote.
