Uttarakhand CM Clears Over ₹140 Crore for Roads, Water Projects, and Kumbh Mela Preparations

Dehradun, September 12 – Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved a series of development projects worth more than ₹140 crore across multiple districts, covering infrastructure, drinking water, and preparations for the 2027 Kumbh Mela.

In Nainital district’s Kaladhungi assembly constituency, Dhami sanctioned ₹3.81 crore under the State Plan for road widening between Government Primary School, Bhagwanpur, and Government Inter College, Lamachaur, linking to the main Kaladhungi road.

In Bageshwar, ₹4.73 crore was approved for the Bodi Dhuraphat Pumping Scheme under the Bageshwar division. The allocation will fund pending works and the retrofitting of pumps and motors with energy-efficient centrifugal pump sets.

Haridwar district will see an allocation of ₹7.07 crore for the construction of the Prosecution Department’s Divisional Directorate office and central malkhana at Roshnabad. The Chief Minister also authorised the release of 40% of funds as the first instalment.

For the Kumbh Mela 2027, Dhami cleared construction works worth approximately ₹1.13 billion and released a token amount of ₹10 crore for the current financial year to kick-start preparations.

The Drinking Water and Sanitation Department received approval for projects worth ₹17.58 crore. This includes three schemes of the Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan costing ₹9.22 crore and 17 projects under the Uttarakhand Peyjal Nigam valued at ₹8.36 crore. All projects are sanctioned under NABARD.

Additionally, the Chief Minister approved the Loktantra Senani Samman Pension for Smt. Devki Devi, wife of the late Shyam Datt Tiwari of Udham Singh Nagar district. She will receive arrears of ₹16,000 per month from June 14, 2017, to October 13, 2022, and ₹20,000 per month thereafter, effective from October 14, 2022.
