United Field Hockey Club hosts 8th International field hockey Tournament

Calgary (Rajeev Sharma): The United Field Hockey Club is set to host the 8th International Alberta Cup Field Hockey Tournament from May 30 to June 1, 2025, at the Genesis Centre in Northeast Calgary, bringing together a mix of international excitement and local sporting talent.
Speaking to National Times, Mandeep Jhally of United Field Hockey Club confirmed that 30 teams will be participating in this year’s tournament. Teams from Canada, the United States, and Mexico will compete alongside local teams from Calgary and nearby communities, promising a thrilling display of competitive field hockey and global sportsmanship.
“This tournament isn’t just about hockey; it’s about building connections and community spirit,” said Jhally.
In addition to the on field action, the three-day event will feature several family-oriented activities aimed at engaging spectators of all ages, Card games for seniors, Rasa Kashi (tug of war) competition, Running race for children under age 10.
The Alberta Cup is expected to draw large crowds and serve as a platform for cultural exchange, community celebration, and sporting excellence.
