Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu Denied Meeting with Punjab CM, Alleges Political Vendetta

Chandigarh (National Times): Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu on Monday alleged that he was denied entry to meet Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann at his official residence in Chandigarh. According to Bittu, he had sought a meeting with the CM to discuss concerns regarding political vendetta against BJP workers in Punjab, but his requests were ignored.

Tense Exchange with Police at CM’s Residence

Bittu arrived at the CM’s residence but was stopped at the gate by security personnel. A heated argument reportedly ensued between the Union Minister and the police, as he demanded an explanation for being denied entry. Despite multiple attempts, he was not allowed to meet CM Mann, fueling further tensions.

Allegations of Political Targeting

Speaking to the media, Bittu accused the AAP government of targeting BJP workers in Punjab after its defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections. He claimed that false cases were being registered against party members and that many were being mistreated in jails.

The Union Minister also issued a stern warning to the Punjab government, stating, “If this political discrimination continues, the AAP government in Punjab will not last until 2027.”

Bittu Vows to Confront CM Publicly

Frustrated over being denied a meeting, Bittu declared that he would approach CM Mann at public events if necessary. He also hinted at legal action against Punjab officials involved in the alleged targeting of BJP members.

Furthermore, he challenged the Punjab Police, stating that if they deemed his visit a security violation, they could take him into custody. However, he maintained that he had followed all protocols and had only gone to seek dialogue with the CM.

With tensions rising between the AAP government in Punjab and the BJP-led Centre, this latest development has only escalated the political battle in the state.
